(For the uninitiated: This is NOT a portrait of our MD group.)
I am a post-doctoral researcher in the molecular modelling group. Currently my work involves elucidating the reaction mechanism of ribozymes using the method of molecular dynamics. I am also using the same technique to look at the dynamics of tRNA molecules. I graduated from Calcutta University and did my Ph.D work in the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics in Calcutta. The topic of my Ph.D. thesis, namely, the structure and energetics of supercoiled DNA, still fascinates me a great deal.
